Two arrested after drugs worth £67,500 found on ferry

Two people have been arrested and charged after drugs worth £67,500 were seized on a ferry in the Western Isles.

Police said the drugs, believed to be cocaine, and a three-figure sum of money were found after officers boarded the boat at Tarbert in Harris on Monday afternoon.

A police dog was involved in a search of the ferry.

A man, 48, and a woman, 37, were released on an undertaking to appear at Stornoway Sheriff Court in Lewis at a later date.
