Woman seriously injured after hit and run

A woman has suffered serious injuries after being involved in a hit and run on Wednesday, police have said.

The crash happened on Thorn Drive in the Gipton area of Leeds at about 19:10 GMT and officers believe a 2010 grey Renault Scenic hit the woman then failed to stop at the scene.

She was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the force is urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage to come forward.
