Man arrested after pedestrian dies in lorry crash
GoogleA man has been arrested after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a lorry in Bradford.
West Yorkshire Police said the victim, a 77-year-old woman, was hit by a HGV on Harrogate Road at 17:35 BST on Wednesday.
Police said the woman was then carried by the vehicle to Neville Road more than three miles (5km) away, where her body was later discovered.
A 55-year-old man had since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was bailed pending further inquiries, a police spokesperson said.
Police are appealing for anyone with relevant footage to come forward and are especially keen to speak to the drivers of a red Ford Max, grey Skoda SUV, a silver Toyota and a white SUV.
Det Insp Paul Conroy said: "This is an extremely upsetting incident involving an elderly pedestrian in Bradford.
"Our thoughts go out to the family who are being supported by specially trained officers."
