A second teenager has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in Sheffield.

The victim was attacked in Market Square in the Woodhouse area at about 21:50 GMT on 18 March.

Police said he had sustained life-threatening injuries but was recovering well and in a stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy, who was arrested on Wednesday and cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 30 March.

Another 17-year-old boy, who has also been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing, made his first court appearance on 24 March.

He was granted conditional bail ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on 21 April.
