Man arrested and 200 cannabis plants found in raid
West Mercia PoliceA man has been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production after about 200 cannabis plants were found at a property in Worcestershire.
It comes after West Mercia Police carried out a drugs warrant on Wednesday morning at Victoria Square in Droitwich.
The 34-year-old suspect was found inside the building and was placed in custody while enquiries continue.
Insp Lisa Hornberger said: "Today's warrant should serve as a clear reminder that we will act on information from the public and take robust action against those involved in drug production in our town."
She added: "Cannabis cultivation is not a victimless crime, it can be linked to wider criminality and poses real risks, including fire hazards and exploitation.
"We encourage anyone with concerns about drug production or supply to report them, so we can continue to act and ensure Droitwich remains a safe place."
