Six men have been banned from entering Warwickshire, after they were arrested during a protest in Nuneaton.

The demonstration took place outside the Town Hall on Saturday, and came after an Afghan asylum seeker was handed a 16-year sentence for the rape of a 12-year-old girl in the town.

Warwickshire Police said seven men had been arrested on the day on suspicion of public order offences and that all had been bailed.

Of those arrested, only one comes from Warwickshire, and police said the other six were banned from entering the county while their inquiries continued.
