An art trail featuring more than 100 artists has been announced for a town in Derbyshire.

The event in Ashbourne, called ARTbourne, will display art in shops, churches, and homes across the town, as well as offer live music and demonstrations.

It will run on 30 and 31 May, with at least 20 confirmed venues including St Oswald's Church, which will host an exhibition on "Derbyshire and nature".

The organisers said the event will offer a "fresh cultural experience" for visitors and locals, celebrating "creativity, community, and Ashbourne's independent spirit".

Kristian Fearn, one of the organisers, said the inspiration came from visiting art trails in other nearby towns.

"It's the first art trail in Ashbourne. For us, it's a celebration of all different types of art forms," he said.

He added that there would be partnerships with local primary and secondary schools to provide and host works of art.

Entry to the participating venues will require a £5 wristband, but under-12s will get in for free.
