Rangers footballer Dujon Sterling in court over driving offences
PA MediaRangers footballer Dujon Sterling has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving and drink driving.
The 26-year-old was arrested after a one-vehicle collision on West Graham Street in the Cowcaddens area of Glasgow in January.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
His bail was continued, and the sheriff approved a request to remove a bail condition which prevented him from driving.
Court papers allege that Sterling drove at "excessive speeds" on city centre roads including Queen Street, Hope Street and West Graham Street in Glasgow on 4 January.
It is claimed that he drove into the path of other road users and failed to keep a proper lookout.
Sterling is also stated to have not used his indicators when required to do so and overtook vehicles in an unsafe manner.
He is then said to have lost control of his vehicle and caused damage to a barrier as well as the car.
His second charge says that he had 60 micrograms of alcohol within 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 22 micrograms.
The footballer had played for Rangers hours before in a match where they won 3-1 against Celtic.
Sheriff Jonathan Guy continued the case to a further hearing at the court on 5 May.
