Police have launched an appeal for information after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Rutland.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to the A6003 Oakham Road between Preston and Manton just before 15:00 GMT on Wednesday.

The crash involved a black Mercedes-Benz Allied and a green Kawasaki ZX636 motorbike, the force added.

The rider of the motorcycle - a man in his 20s - was taken to hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the crash, police said.

Det Sgt Kasie McMahon appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.

She said: "We're particularly keen to speak to any motorists with a dashcam or who witnessed the collision.

"We'd also like to speak to anyone who saw either vehicle beforehand."
