Road closed following significant diesel spill
Somerset CouncilA road has been closed following a vehicle fire and a significant diesel spill.
Avon and Somerset Police said it was called to the A38 at Thurloxton, along with the fire service, just before 10:20 BST on Saturday after reports of a vehicle fire and oil on the road.
Somerset Council said the road, which requires specialist treatment, is closed in both directions near the Fruit Farm, between Knotcroft Lane and Mill Lane.
The closure is expected to be in place for several hours, with motorists urged to plan ahead and seek alternative routes.
"Officers supported the fire service who put the fire out, but a full closure has been put in place from the turn off for Thurloxton Farm to the junction with Knotcroft Lane while the road is cleared," police said.
