Action plan to improve children's lives launched

North Northamptonshire Council introduced the Best Start in Life (BSiL) action plan after consulting with local parents, carers and partner organisations.
It said the two-year plan, which has six priority areas, will "promote strong partnership" across health, education, family hubs, childcare, special educational needs and disability (SEND) and the wider community.
"This plan reflects our shared commitment to ensuring every child grows up healthy, confident and ready to learn," the council said.
It focuses on improving early childhood outcomes from conception to age five and aims to ensure children's needs are identified and met earlier.
The Reform-led council said it would also "help reduce inequalities in child development".
It focuses on six priority areas, including early identification of communication and health needs; workforce development; enhancing the physical family hub presence; support for parents and improving coordination between partners.
