Four teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a fire at a three-storey building in Saffron Walden.

Essex Police said it was treating the incident as arson, after the flames broke out in Lime Tree Court at about 15:10 GMT on Monday.

No-one was injured, the county's fire service said, but the roof of the building was damaged and its third floor was heavily smoke-logged.

The boys, all aged 15, were taken to custody for questioning.

King Street was closed and people nearby were advised to keep their windows and doors shut when the fire broke out.

Crews from Harlow, Newport, Stansted, Cambridge, Saffron Walden and Wethersfield all attended the scene.
