Vet hospital plan for former car dealership site
GoogleA new veterinary hospital is to replace a former car dealership in Wolverhampton.
The two-storey, purpose-built hospital, on the site of a former Land Rover dealership on Stafford Street, will provide 10,000 sq ft of space and provide round-the-clock care for sick animals.
Under plans approved by the city council, the existing building, empty since 2012, will be demolished.
The hospital, in addition to offering a range of clinical, diagnostic and treatment services, will "incorporate office accommodation for administration and finance staff, medical staff offices, and areas for research and development", according to planning documents.
The former showroom, on the corner of Stafford Street and Bone Mill Lane, closed in 2012 with the loss of 45 jobs.
A new £14m dealership later opened off Penn Road in Wolverhampton city centre.
