Boy, 16, in critical condition after van crash

A 16-year-old pedestrian is in a critical condition after he was struck during a crash involving two vans in Leicester.

Police said the boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash at the junction of Welford Road and Baldwin Road, near Knighton Park, at about 15:05 BST.

Welford Road was closed between Asquith Boulevard and Roehampton Drive following the collision.

Leicestershire Police has appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
