A man who died in a one-vehicle crash in Shetland has been named by police.

Magnus Sinclair was discovered at about 20:50 on Thursday in a silver Toyota Avensis, at Bridge End, near Burra.

Officers said the 83-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for nearly 21 hours to allow investigations to be carried out.

Sgt Neil MacDonald said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Sinclair's family and friends at this difficult time.

"I would like to thank the public for their support during our inquiries."

The officer urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage to come forward.
