Pair jailed for unprovoked attack on three victims
Norfolk PoliceTwo men who seriously injured three people with a knife and a broken bottle have been jailed.
Jaidon Mitchell, 22, and Joshua Knight, 23, carried out what police described as an unprovoked attack in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, that left three victims with serious injuries, on 21 February 2025.
Both admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent over the attack, which left the victims with injuries including stab wounds to the legs, eye and ear.
At Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday, Mitchell was jailed for nine years and Knight for six years and six months.
Mitchell, of Hitchin Road in Stevenage, and Knight, of Caponfield in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, also both pleaded guilty to possessing weapons and using or threatening unlawful violence.
Norfolk Police said it had been called to reports of fighting in King Street, with the suspects fleeing the scene and arrested within the hour.
Detectives said that in interview, the pair gave no explanation for the "apparently motiveless" attacks.
All three victims said they had been deeply impacted by the suddenness of the life-changing attack by two people they had never met, police said.
"This was a shocking and completely unprovoked attack," said Det Con Jodie Cameron.
"I would like to thank the victims for their bravery and all those who came forward and gave statements."
