Local elections 2026: A guide to London's 32 boroughs

More than six million Londoners are eligible to vote in the local elections on 7 May.

All 32 London boroughs will be up for election - a total of 1,817 councillors will be elected.

And in Croydon, Hackney, Lewisham, Newham and Tower Hamlets the mayor will be directly elected.

BBC London has produced a guide to every borough - from Havering in the east, to Hillingdon in the west - featuring facts, figures and the history of each area, along with election analysis from Professor Tony Travis of the London School of Economics.

You can find each using the cards in the graphic above.

And you can find information about how to vote here.
