Swanning around: This stunning picture was captured at Chew Valley Lake, which this week celebrated 70 years since it was opened by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

Say cheese: Hundreds of runners took part in The Big Cheese run in Cheddar Gorge to raise money for charity. Sam Rodda from Bristol came first in the race and won a hamper of cheese.
Shelim AliTackling crime: The Knives Down Guards Up project in Bristol is helping young people learn skills to keep them safe from knife crime in the city. The classes offer self-defence, karate skills and mentoring.
SubmittedCatch of the day: Simon was not expecting to catch a 34lb pike when he went fishing with his friend in Chew Valley on Wednesday. Look at the size of that!

Big Tidy: People in Hartcliffe were picking litter to win prizes on Saturday. Families who handed in rubbish would get a raffle ticket per bag - with prizes including Forwards festival tickets and food hampers.

Chris HaigMixed reviews: The Firepool Boulevard in Taunton, which connects the railway station to the town centre, has been criticised for what it cost to build - more than £6m. Meanwhile other residents are pleased about having a more direct route to the town centre away from busy roads.

BNPSRare opportunity: A life jacket worn by a Titanic survivor has gone up for auction at Henry Aldridge and Son in Devizes. It is the only life jacket from one of the survivors ever to be put on sale and is expected to fetch between £250,000 and £350,000.
Gail FosterTip-top: A free exhibition at St Mary's Church is underway in Devizes until 26 April. It covers eight areas of life in the town - from shopping to spirituality - and features original poems and photography by Gail Foster. A photo of Jan Holmes, well known for her work to crochet post box toppers in Devizes, is featured.
