Men on moped sought after supermarket robbery

Two men are being sought following a robbery at a supermarket in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said two men arrived on a moped at a Sainsbury's Local on Morley Street at about 23:00 BST on Wednesday. One of the men is said to have entered the store and threatened workers.

Staff handed over a small amount of cash before the robber got onto the pillion seat of the moped and both fled the scene.

The man who entered the store is described as being between 5ft 9in (1.75m) and 6ft tall (1.83m), pale and had a tattoo on his left hand, the force added.

Derbyshire Police has urged anyone with information – in particular anyone who may have been driving in the area and have dashcam footage - to come forward.
