Police appeals after thefts from Inverness and Fort Augustus shops

Police have sought a man in connection with a break-in to a premises in Fort Augustus

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a robbery at a shop in the Hilton area of Inverness.

Police said the incident on Tomatin Road happened at about 15:35 on Tuesday. No-one was injured.

The man was due to appear in court later.

In a separate incident, police have sought a man after alcohol was stolen following a break-in to a premises in Fort Augustus at about 01:30 on Monday.

The man was described as being around 6ft tall, of medium build, wearing dark clothing and a distinctive red face covering.

Det Con Ross Naismith said inquiries into the Fort Augustus incident were ongoing.

He added: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or someone matching the description to contact us.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch."
