Tyler Smith pounced late to keep Rochdale top of the National League with a tight 1-0 win over Boston.
Dale were facing a stalemate until the 82nd minute, a result that would have seen them slip behind York on goal difference.
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe had the best of the chances prior to that but it was Smith who had the killer instinct after coming on for Devante Rodney. Fellow substitute Ian Henderson combined with Daniel Moss to create the opportunity and Smith finished it off.
Oliver Whatmuff had one big save still to make, denying Thomas Cursons to leave his side two points clear in the title race.
