Second-placed York extended their unbeaten National League run to 22 games with a 4-1 victory over Halifax at the LNER Community Stadium.
Goals from Josh Stones, Alex Hunt, Ollie Pearce and Ollie Banks, with Josh Hmami responding, saw Stuart Maynard's side make it seven successive wins to remain a point behind Rochdale.
There was a minute's applause in the 16th minute for York Under-16 captain Harry Rowntree, who was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this week.
The Minstermen led two minutes later when Stones got on the end of Banks' bobbling cross and Hunt doubled the advantage in the 25th minute, firing into the bottom corner.
Pearce notched his 28th league goal this season from close range five minutes before the break and Banks bagged a fourth in the 58th minute, shortly after Hmami had reduced the deficit.
