Stevenage returned to the League One play-off positions with a battling 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.
Jamie Reid's fourth goal in five matches was enough to fire Boro up to fifth, with none of their main rivals able to match their three points.
A foul on Carl Piergianni gave Stevenage a first-half penalty for the second time in a week. Joe Lewis tried to clear a bouncing ball but while he missed that, he connected with the Boro skipper's ankles. Reid sent Joe McDonnell the wrong way for a 10th-minute advantage.
Reid and then Kemp hit first-time shots, the first well saved by the keeper and the second drifting just wide.
Matt Stevens had the best effort for the Dons with a firm header off target.
The second period saw more of the same, although with McDonnell the only keeper needed to make a save, pushing another Kemp effort behind.
All other chances at both ends were blocked by defenders, Kemp denied again after a cushioned header from Matt Phillips and then Steve Seddon and Myles Hippolyte at the other end.
