Blackpool registered a crucial win in their battle for League One survival as they overcame bottom-placed Port Vale in a thriller at Bloomfield Road.

The visitors twice went ahead through Dajaune Brown and Rhys Walters, with Niall Ennis and Ashley Fletcher being on hand to pull Ian Evatt's side level.

James Husband then climbed off the bench to fire the Seasiders in front nine minutes from time and they held on to claim a vital three points.

The opener came after just two minutes, with Brown finishing from close range after a defensive scramble in the box.

Blackpool's response came at the beginning of the second half, with Ennis tucking home a Josh Bowler cross.

Vale retook the lead ahead of the hour mark with Walters finishing off a Jordan Shipley cross from close range, before the Seasiders pulled level again, this time through Fletcher.

Evatt's side took the lead for the first time in the 81st minute, with a volley from Husband finding its way past goalkeeper Joe Gauci via a deflection.
