National League side Hartlepool United have signed Jay Smith-Sway on a loan deal from League One Huddersfield Town until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old, who can play in defence and midfielder, is available for Pools' final seven National League games of the season as boss Nicky Featherstone aims to "give it a go" to make this year's play-offs.
Although he has not yet made his league debut for Huddersfield, Smith-Sway has made six senior appearances across the EFL Trophy and the Carabao Cup - including in the Terriers' 2-0 defeat by Manchester City in September.
"You can feel the size of the club and what it means to the supporters," Smith-Sway told Hartlepool's club website., external
Featherstone said: "Jay's comfortable on the ball, he understands the game and he's got the kind of energy and attitude we want in the squad."
