ในตอนนี้ เราจะมาฝึกวิธีตอบกลับคำเชิญค่ะ เริ่มด้วยการฟังประโยคตัวอย่างที่ตอบคำเชิญไปโรงภาพยนตร์ หรือ ‘cinema’ นะคะ ไม่ต้องกังวลหากฟังไม่เข้าใจทั้งหมดนะคะ เดี๋ยวเราจะมาอธิบายกันอย่างละเอียดเลยค่ะ ส่วนตอนนี้ให้จับใจความก่อนว่าในประโยคเหล่านี้เขาตอบรับหรือปฏิเสธค่ะ

Ha ha! Very clever. ในทุกประโยคตัวอย่าง สังเกตได้ว่า เขาตอบรับกันทุกคนโดยไม่ได้ใช้คำว่า ‘yes’ เลยนะคะ ฟังอีกครั้งว่าคนแรกพูดว่าอะไรแทนคำว่า ‘yes’ ค่ะ

OK! ‘That sounds great’ ก็แปลว่า ‘ฟังดูดีมากเลย’ ซึ่งเราจะใช้คำคุณศัพท์อื่นแทน ‘great’ ก็ได้นะคะ ใช่ไหมคะแซม

Definitely! You can use ‘That sounds good’ or ‘That sounds lovely’ or ‘That sounds wonderful’ all with a very positive meaning.

สังเกตไหมคะว่า ทั้งคู่ตอบว่า ‘I’d love’ ซึ่ง ‘I’d’ ก็เป็นรูปย่อของคำว่า ‘I’ และ ‘would’ นั่นเองค่ะ ตามด้วยคำว่า ‘love’ แปลว่ารัก หรือชอบมาก

Yes! Can you also explain to our listeners what happens after ‘love’?

ค่ะ ‘I’d love to’ ย่อมาจาก ‘I’d love to come’ นั่นเองค่ะ ซึ่งในที่นี้เขาไม่ได้ใช้กริยา ‘come’ เพราะในคำถามพูดไปแล้วและไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ซ้ำในคำตอบค่ะ

…or you can say ‘I’d love that!’, which has the same meaning.

Yes! ‘I’d love to’ , ‘I’d love to come’ และ ‘I’d love that’ ใช้ได้เหมือนกันนะคะ
