Ireland head coach Scott Bemand on facing France: "We always want to win in Ireland no matter who we play against. We have got to take stock of this performance and go to France next week. There are some things to tidy up from today but if we get those bits right, we know we can put in a performance to compete with the French.
"We've just got to keep going. We think we are getting better. We see it in training. The first game away to England is as hard as it comes, as it next week, but we will just looking after ourselves and we'll keep trying to get better every time we play. We think we are getting a better and better group for that."
Ireland head coach Scott Bemand: "We're delighted with the performance and the result. It was a record crowd, which is outstanding. We want to keep moving it forward, so we have achieved what we wanted to achieve. There's more games to come and we'll keep getting a bit better.
"Playing here, it's always going to be a game of two halves with the wind. I thought we capitalise on that in the first half and we wanted to keep the momentum going. Everything we practised in the week, we saw. There are bits to tidy up on and we weren't quite a clinical at the last bit. We were disappointed we gave the Italians the chance to get a losing bonus point with the four tries."
Ireland captain Erin King: "It meant so much to us after last week to come out and put in a dominant performance. From one to 23, everyone who came on that pitch worked so hard for each other. I'm really proud of the squad and the work from the girls.
"I think we placed a lot of emphasis on putting our words into action. We have worked hard and enjoyed the game that we played. We played with smiles on our faces and we showed what we are all about and capable of."
Ireland wing Beibhinn Parsons, who was player of the match, after the Irish support had stopped screaming her name: "The crowd here is absolutely fantastic and they have been screaming form minute one to minute 80. We really felt that on the pitch and it is a dream come true to be able to play in Galway in front of such an amazing crowd. To put in a performance like that was just fantastic.
"Those types of tries have been coming off in training so to have one now on the international stage is just fantastic. It's so special. We talked about our green wave and how much it has built. To see the crowd here today, everyone from young and old, it's fantastic."
On facing France: "It's big. We have some revenge to get on them from the World Cup, so we'll hit the ground running on Monday. We had a really big training week last week and next week will be no different."
There were some great tries, some great play from the forwards and the backs, but Ireland will be disappointed with the scoreline in the second half. They would have liked to keep up that momentum although that is hard.
There's some confusion as Stacey Flood kicks the ball into touch and thinks she has ended the game, but play is brought back for a late hit by Anna McGann.
So we'll keep on playing...after the camera operators and backroom staff have left the pitch.
Ireland will be disappointed with taking their foot off the pedal in the second half. Scott Bemand will have hoped that his replacements would have made more impact.
Ireland get narrow as the Italian forwards chipped their way towards the line, and that allowed Alyssia D'Inca the time and space she needed to race over in the corner.
