Exciting night of league and cup action concludes

That's all from us on another action packed night of Premiership and Irish Cup football.

It was a night when Coleraine profited from not one but TWO own goals as they saw off Warrenpoint Town, while Crusaders and Glenavon were able to muster a goal at Seaview.

In the Irish Cup, Ballymena United saw off third-tier Portstewart to set up a quarter-final 'derby' with Larne.

We're back on Friday night with two Premiership games, including live stream coverage of the meeting of Dungannon Swifts and Cliftonville before four more games on Saturday.

Join us for those. Bye for now.

    Quote Message

Great credit has to go to Johnny Law and Portstewart – they were very well organised and worked very hard. It was not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination. On what was a difficult night, not just with the wind and the rain, the surface wasn’t conducive to good football, I thought we were competent, we were professional and we did the job – three goals, clean sheet and through to the next round.

    Coleraine 2-1 Warrenpoint Town

It's a hard-fought three points for Oran Kearney's side as they bounce back from Saturday's defeat at Cliftonville.

Luke Wade Slater's own goal had put the Bannsiders ahead only for Alan O'Sullivan to level for Point when his shot escaped Gareth Deane's grasp.

There was to be another own goal though - and a decisive one at that - as Daniel Byrne headed Josh Carson's dangerous cross past Stephen McMullan to seal the win for Coleraine and leave Barry Gray's side two points adrift of 11th-placed Portadown.

    Coleraine 2-1 Warrenpoint Town

That's surely the late winner for Coleraine as Stephen Lowry rises to meet Josh Carson's left-wing cross, but it looks as though Daniel Byrne heads it past Stephen McMullan!

    Heartache for Warrenpoint.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:37 GMT 15 February 2022

    Crusaders 0-0 Glenavon

A scoreless draw at Seaview. A result that doesn't do much for either side. Crusaders will feel the more aggrieved side but they didn't do enough to deserve all three points.

The home side remain fourth and host Carrick Rangers at Seaview this weekend while Glenavon stay eighth but they can move above Ballymena when the sides meet at the Showgrounds on Saturday.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:36 GMT 15 February 2022

    Ballymena United 3-0 Portstewart

The game finishes as it started, in driving rain, but Ballymena are safely into the last eight of the Irish Cup with an ultimately comfortable victory.

David Jeffrey's side now face neighbours Larne in an intriguing quarter-final tie on March 5.

Portstewart deserve a lot of credit as well for a gutsy performance in horrible conditions.

  9. CLOSE!published at 21:34 GMT 15 February 2022

    Crusaders 0-0 Glenavon

With injury time approaching, Crues captain Billy Joe Burns is denied from six yards by James Taylor.

Three minutes added on at Seaview.

    Coleraine 1-1 Warrenpoint Town

    Point are level!

Adam Wixted is allowed to advance to the edge of the Coleraine area and pokes the ball through to Alan O'Sullivan, whose first-time shot escapes Gareth Deane's grasp and ends up in the bottom corner!

  11. Own goal puts Coleraine in frontpublished at 21:24 GMT 15 February 2022

    Coleraine 1-0 Warrenpoint Town

It looks like that has to go down as a Luke Wade Slater own goal.

It's enough to put Coleraine in front and, as things stand, they're moving to within a point of fifth-placed Larne.

    Coleraine 1-0 Warrenpoint Town

The home side hit the front early in the second half as Jamie Glackin's corner ends up in the Warrenpoint net!

Difficult to see whether it was Stephen Lowry or a Warrenpoint player who got the final touch, but the Bannsiders don't care - they'll take it!
