"But it's fine margins in football and it's cost us three points.

"It's hard to take and very frustrating."

Rovers captain Scott Brown tells BBC Scotland: "Probably not the best game in history, but it was a good point for us.

"St Johnstone are a good team and showed that at times.

"We showed good resilience and dug in."

Raith Rovers manager Dougie Imrie thought both sides had chances to win the game.

"It was a really competitive game," he tells BBC Scotland. "St Johnstone will rue hitting the bar and we will rue the goal that was chopped off.

"All the games are going to be difficult from now until the end of the season, but we played well tonight and willl take the point and move on."

As for the offside decision against Lewis Vaughan, Imrie adds: "It is clearly onside. They have a difficult job in the Championship as there is no VAR and we just have to take our medicine and move on."

St Johnstone's lead is now six points and Partick Thistle can half that against Airdrieonians tomorrow.

But captain Jason Holt says: "We can only control what we can control and that was the game tonight.

"It was two dropped points, but it might be an important one come the end of the season.

"Whenever you are pushing at the top of the table, there is going to be pressure and I am really pleased with the way the boys have dealt with it."

"My first reaction is that I'm massively disappointed because I think I should score - probably the last action of the match," Holt tells BBC Scotland.

"Very disappointed, but I think we controlled large parts of the game.

"We had two really good chances. One in the first half and mine at the end there.

"Outwith that, we probably failed to create any clearcut ones, but I'm just disappointed with that one at the end."

League leaders St Johnstone miss the chance to move eight points clear of second-place Partick Thistle as they are held to a goalless draw at Raith Rovers.
