It’s never over until it’s over, they say – and Cardiff fans would echo that tonight after their side’s 95th-minute equaliser at Huddersfield.

Before kick-off we brought you news that former England and Chelsea defender John Terry was at Colchester this evening amid reports that is he part of a consortium looking to take over the League Two club.

The Sun reported on Monday, external, external that the group had submitted a £14m offer for the club, which was put up for sale last year by chairman Robbie Cowling.

Terry was greeted by supporters when he arrived at the Jobserve Community Stadium before kick-off against Accrington Stanley.

His nephew Frankie Terry, also a defender, was named in Colchester's starting line-up by head coach Danny Cowley.

Cowley has confirmed that "detailed discussions" are ongoing but said he was "not in a position to comment on any specific individuals or companies involved".

Brilliant from Barrow! Where has the performance been! More like that for the remaining games and we have a good chance of staying up!

  4. 'Nothing's ever easy at Cardiff'published at 22:12 BST 14 April

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Cardiff

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

It was a frustrating night at times, a few passes going astray but the introduction of Yousef Salech and Joel Colwill changed it and added a bit more energy. They didn't create an awful lot of chances.

They get a point from this, soldier on, and I can only see promotion for them.

They're making you hang on but nothing's easy at Cardiff, though - it never has been.

Everyone wants it done and dusted as soon as possible.

  5. Things taking shape in third tierpublished at 22:08 BST 14 April

Cardiff are effectively a win from the Championship after their last-gasp draw at Huddersfield, which severely dents the Terriers' own hopes of making the play-offs.

Bolton are up to third after their thumping win over Stevenage but Boro had a slice of luck with that Cardiff goal keeping them clear in sixth, though Luton can close the gap to three points tomorrow night.

While Northampton slip to the foot of the table below Port Vale, neither of those sides are down yet, but third-bottom Rotherham are after their defeat at Wigan, having played a game more.

There is too much to happen now, so many teams go above Town now.

This really feels like a season defining result now.

    Win tonight, still a chance.

It is a shame as they worked really hard tonight.

But not finishing chances has defined them tonight.

  7. Things looking up for Spireites and Bluebirdspublished at 21:59 BST 14 April

A big night for Chesterfield, who tightened their grip on the final play-off spot by seeing off their closest challengers for that prize, Grimsby.

The Spireites’ 2-1 victory gives them a four-point cushion over Grimsby in eighth place, although Dave Artell’s side still have a game in hand on their rivals.

But Oldham’s hopes of forcing their way into the play-off look all but over after a breathless finish to their game at relegation-threatened Barrow.

The Bluebirds trailed for much of the second half, then scored twice in a minute to lead 2-1 – only to be pegged back again prior to Isaac Fletcher’s injury-time winner, lifting them to within one point of safety.

Elsewhere, John Terry – believed to be part of a consortium in talks to take over at Colchester – watched the U’s beat Accrington 2-1, while Cheltenham came from behind to defeat Gillingham by the same scoreline.

  8. 'Yet another late, late equaliser conceded by Huddersfield Town'published at 21:55 BST 14 April

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Cardiff

    Paul Ogden
Huddersfield Town commentator, BBC Radio Leeds

After all that dramas, all that effort from Huddersfield Town they are going to have to settle for a point.

Yet another late, late equaliser conceded by Huddersfield Town.

    It will undermine long term.

Great to watch, certainly fulfilling in many ways for home fans, but despite a really aggressive, front foot show from Town, yet again they fall short of three points.

  9. 'I thought he'd missed'published at 21:53 BST 14 April

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Cardiff

    Kevin Ratcliffe

Cardiff have been putting them under pressure for so long you thought it's got to happen.

He's got a lot to do, Salech, and I thought he'd missed at first.

But I'll tell you what, I think they got away with one there because he could have been offside.

All over in east London, where Leyton Orient and Mansfield have fought out a 0-0 draw.

It could be a valuable point for the O's, who have now gone five games without a win but are four points clear of the relegation places.

One of those, we now know, will be occupied by Rotherham - and Northampton and Port Vale, who drew 0-0 at home to Barnsley, are all but certain to join them in the near future.

Cardiff can't go up tomorrow, but they are not far away now.

Yousef Salech's last-gasp leveller has given Cardiff a nine-point cushion in the promotion race and dealt Huddersfield a big blow as they looked set to close the gap on sixth-placed Stevenage to two points.

As it is it's four, despite Ryan Ledson's opener and a glut of chances, including thumping the woodwork twice.

    Phew. What a breathless game.

  15. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 1-1 Cardiffpublished at 21:42 BST 14 April

    Yousef Salech (90+5 mins)

    Football, eh?

Ollie Tanner's curling cross from the left is glanced on by Callum Robinson and there's Yousef Salech to nod in at the far post.

That's his first goal since January and one of the most vital of the season, not just for Cardiff but also for Huddersfield.

Nathan Trott's saves made that possible, remember.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:42 BST 14 April

    Chesterfield 2-1 Grimsby

Ryan Boot is the hero for Chesterfield.

Seventh beats eighth and the play-off race just ended for some and got a lot harder for others, including Grimsby.

Chesterfield looked to be cruising when Liam Mandeville and Lee Bonis scored fine goals in a three-minute spell but Jaze Kabia pulled one back before the break and Andy Cook rattled the woodwork late-on before Reece Staunton saw a stoppage-time penalty saved by Boot to ensure Chesterfield move four points ahead of the Mariners, whose play-off destiny is no longer in their hands.

  17. League Two latestpublished at 21:41 BST 14 April

Mo Faal scores what looks like a late winner for Cheltenham, who now lead 2-1 at home to Gillingham.

With all due respect to Faal and the Robins, though, it's unlikely to be as significant as Isaac Fletcher's last-gasp goal to earn Barrow a 3-2 win at home to Oldham.

Colchester have also triumphed at home, with John Terry in the stands to see them overcome Accrington 2-1.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:41 BST 14 April

    Huddersfield 1-0 Cardiff

Nathan Trott is the only reason this isn't 3-0.

He's somehow tipped Marcus McGuane's shot onto the crossbar and then makes another save at point-blank range.
