This is the first ever meeting between Stuttgart and FC Porto – the German side last faced a Portuguese side in Europe in the last 32 of the 2010-11 UEFA Europa League, losing both legs to Benfica (1-2 away, 0-2 home).
FC Porto have won their last three major European matches against German sides – two wins against Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League in October 2022 and a 2-0 win against Hoffenheim in October 2024 in the Europa League.
