But Jonny Clayton makes an error with his attempt at tops, going inside and then hitting double 15 and busting.

Rock can't see off the leg, though, and Clayton punishes him on his next visit.

“I always play Jonny in the first round, I know how to beat him there, hopefully I know how to beat him in the second."

Jonny Clayton, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think my hands are still shaking. I got away with one. Luke [Humphries] missed to give me a chance and last dart on the bull, I'm going to remember that for a while.

"I've lost the last two games to Josh in the last two weeks but Josh is playing well. He's not had the best of starts but we all know what Josh Rock is about. Brilliant dart players."
