  1. 'We haven't quite hit our strengths so far'published at 13:11 GMT 14 February

England captain Harry Brook: "Glad we got over the line. We were over the moon with our bowling. Scotland were getting ahead of us at one point but we managed to get back.

"Tom Banton was awesome. He has slid in nicely in that number four role. He deserves all of that and he has played really nicely.

"I always had confidence. We knew it was a decent wicket and outfield. We didn't have to take too many risks. Banton played beautifully well there and Sam Curran's cameo was also awesome.

"We haven't quite had that perfect game yet. Hopefully we can have an easier game against Italy and play our best cricket and hopefully, we can put some smiles on faces back home."

"We haven't quite hit our strengths so far. But we don't want to get it too early either. Hopefully, against Italy, it can be the start of our rise."

  2. 'It's a high-risk game but you have to keep backing yourself'published at 13:09 GMT 14 February

Player of the match, England's Tom Banton: "A tough game against West Indies but our full focus was on tonight and then on to Italy in two days' time."

On finding form: "It's T20 cricket, it's a high risk game and you've got to keep backing yourself. Sometimes it goes against you and it's hard. You've got to keep coming back, trying hard, practicing. Luckily today was my day.

"When I watch cricket on TV in India, it seems to be absolute carnage but in Mumbai there was a bit of spin and a bit of hold. It was nice to get on a really good wicket tonight.

"It was a bit on the low side, I like to sweep and reverse but my plan was to go as straight as possible then when they go short, pull it away.

"I just thought I'd give myself a chance and catch up down the line. I just want to win games for England."

  3. 'This one hurts quite a lot'published at 13:07 GMT 14 February

Scotland captain Richie Berrington: "I thought it was a really good surface to bat on. We fought back really well after losing early wickets but we needed one of us to go on.

"I think we knew spin would be key though middle phase. Our execution was off today but we know we have the players who can do that.

"We were a few runs short but we had the belief which is probably why this on hurts quite a lot. If we can execute our best skills we can put teams under pressure.

"We've loved our time here, great to have three games here. We've had a lot of support and it was a great atmosphere to finish things off here."

England not as good as the media would like us to think they are, they will make it into the next round, but we are little more than outsiders.

Tom Banton finished with an unbeaten 63 from 41 balls to be the pick of the England players.

He repays Harry Brook’s faith after being preferred in the squad over spare batter Ben Duckett.

A professional job done with a couple of hairy moments would be my caveat.

I thought England set the tone really well with the ball after winning the toss. There was an outstanding partnership by Scotland that looked to drag them back into the game.

The way Scotland started with the ball with those two quick wickets, Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton had to soak up a lot of pressure in the face of good bowling. The lowish total that was set by Scotland meant that England didn't have to take too many risks before accelerating to their target.

A lot of kudos to Tom Banton, he would have felt under a bit of pressure coming into this game but he showd hes a true class player.

Scotland have given a great showing of themselves. They will be disappointed that they fell a bit short with the bat but they've been brilliant to restrict England on a good surface.

Sam Curran was looking do do the right thing, move the scoreboard on and get this game done quicker for England's net run rate if that situation arises. It should be a walk in the park for England but one more wicket and you never know.

Heavy leg-side onslaught from Sam Curran against spin today, he scored 60% of his runs against spin in front of square on the leg side and had a considerably higher strike-rate leg side (174) than off side (117).
