Royal Challengers Bengaluru seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become the second player in the history of the Indian Premier League to take 200 wickets in the tournament.

The 36-year-old had been on 199 wickets heading into RCB's match with Chennai Super Kings and reached the milestone when he had Ayush Mhatre caught at mid-off.

Kumar, who played 21 Tests, 121 ODIs and 87 T20 internationals for India between 2012 and 2022, finished the pick of the RCB attack with 3-41.

"It was a tricky surface. A few balls stopped and then suddenly you felt it was a good wicket to bat on," Kumar said.

"The ground was very heavy and I was cramping as well, so tried to keep the plan simple because it's not an easy ground to defend on."

Kumar is second on the all-time list of IPL wicket-takers which is led by compatriot Yuzvendra Chahal who has 224.

Tim David clubbed 70 off 25 balls as defending Indian Premier League champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru notched up back-to-back wins from their opening two games with a 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings.

Australia's David hit eight sixes - including one over the roof at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium off Jamie Overton - and three fours in his knock at a strike-rate of 280 which helped RCB post a commanding 250-3.

Phil Salt (46), Devdutt Padikkal (50) and Rajat Patidar (48*) also made useful contributions as Overton claimed 1-42 for the Super Kings.

Kiwi seamer Jacob Duffy (2-58) then removed both CSK openers Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad for single-figure scores.

Sarfaraz Khan offered some hope with a half-century off 25 balls but at 84-5 in the seventh over CSK were running out of batters.

Overton biffed 36 off 16 balls before he was caught by substitute fielder Jacob Bethell at long-off and from that point the chase was forlorn.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished the pick of the RCB attack with 3-41 which took him past 200 wickets on the all-time list of IPL wicket-takers.

Steve Smith's maiden Pakistan Super League half-century helped Multan Sultans claim a six-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators.

The 36-year-old Australian opened the batting and hit 53 off 35 balls to top score for the Sultans as they chased down 167 in Lahore.

Smith set the tone for Multan with an attacking start to his innings and walloped Tom Curran for four consecutive fours in the third over.

He was dismissed by Hasan Nawaz, who took 2-17, but Shan Masood (46*) got the Sultans home with 15 balls remaining.

The Gladiators had earlier posted 166-7 from their 20 overs thanks largely to captain Saud Shakeel's 41-ball 56.

Bevon Jacobs also chipped in with an unbeaten 49 off 31 balls as Mohammad Nawaz claimed an impressive 3-30 for the Sultans.

Multan are top of the PSL table with three wins from four matches but are level on points with unbeaten Karachi Kings who have played a game fewer.

Rishabh Pant hit his first half-century of this year's Indian Premier League as the Lucknow Super Giants captain coolly guided his side to a five-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad with a ball to spare.

Pant initially started slowly but the left-hander provided moments of usual trademark flair and idiosyncratic strokeplay as he finished unbeaten on 68 off 50 balls.

The India wicketkeeper was on strike on the final over of the game - bowled by Jaydev Unadkat - with nine runs required off six balls and whacked three fours to get the job done.

Earlier, LSG had bowled impressively at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad to restrict Sunrisers to 156-9.

Experienced seamer Mohammed Shami (2-9) removed Sunrisers openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma cheaply before skipper Ishan Kishan was bowled by Prince Yadav.

When Englishman Liam Livingstone top edged Digvesh Rathi for 14 the Sunrisers had slumped to 26-4 at the start of the eighth over.

A 116-run stand between Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy gave the total some respectability as they finished with 62 and 56 off 41 and 33 balls respectively but it would not turn out to be enough.

Teenage opener Sameer Minhas made a blistering 70 off 36 balls as Islamabad United cruised to a seven-wicket victory over Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League.

Minhas blasted an unbeaten 82 against Quetta Gladiators in just his second PSL match earlier in the week and played a key hand for Islamabad again in Lahore.

The 19-year-old whacked seven fours and four sixes as United chased down 157 in 14.2 overs with Mark Chapman and Haider Ali unbeaten on 24 and 26 respectively.

Earlier, Sam Billings had made just seven in Rawalpindiz's total of 156-7 from their 20 overs with Kamran Ghulam top-scoring with 50 off 39 balls as Richard Gleeson took 2-21 for United.

Ravi Bishnoi bagged his best figures in the Indian Premier League as Rajasthan Royals edged to a tense six-run win over Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

India leg-spinner Bishnoi, subbed in as an impact player, finished with 4-41 as the Titans fell just short of what would have been their highest chase in the IPL after being set 211 for victory.

Bishnoi removed the dangerous Sai Sudharsan after he had hammered 73 off 44 balls then ran through the middle order as the Titans slipped from 107-1 to 133-5.

England's Jos Buttler made 26 from 14 balls before stand-in Titans skipper Rashid Khan and Kasigo Rabada reignited the chase with a fluent partnership.

The Titans required 11 off the final over but Rashid and Rabada struggled to get away some tight bowling from Royals seamer Tushar Deshpande.

And when Jofra Archer, who took 1-38, pouched a catch in the deep to dismiss Rashid off the penultimate delivery of the match with seven required the game was up and Deshpande celebrated.

Earlier, half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel had powered the Royals to 210-6.

Jaiswal hit 55 off 36 balls as he shared a 70-run stand for the first wicket with 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who chipped in with 31 off 18 balls.

India wicketkeeper Jurel had top-scored for the Royals with 75 off 42 balls including five fours and five sixes.

Sameer Rizvi's fine start to this year's Indian Premier League continued after he cracked a superb 90 off 51 balls which helped Delhi Capitals to a six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians.

Rizvi, is has yet to play international cricket for India at senior level, made 70 not out in Delhi's win over Lucknow Super Giants in their opening match and he eclipsed that score at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The 22-year-old, who has been likened to Suresh Raina in style, looked on course to make the first century of this year's IPL only to be caught at long-off attempting to smack Corbin Bosch over the ropes.

Rizvi whacked seven sixes and seven fours as he claimed back-to-back player of the match awards and the orange cap in his 15th IPL match.

"I've worked on my weaknesses - I wasn't as good against fast bowlers," said Rizvi, who took 20 runs off one over from Bosch.

"I took time, got set and then played my shots. I tried to watch the ball as long as possible. If you score runs here, you get a lot of confidence and there are opportunities for us youngsters."

Pathum Nissanka and David Miller chipped in with 44 and 21 not out respectively as the Capitals comfortably chased down MI's total of 162-6 with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav's 51 off 36 balls had provided the backbone of MI's total while his predecessor as India's T20 captain, Rohit Sharma, made 35 off 26.

However, the Capitals had been disciplined with their bowling, spearheaded by Mukesh Kumar, who finished with 2-26 to leave a target well within their grasp.

"We were 15 to 20 runs short, but I don't want to take credit away from their bowlers and Rizvi," Suryakumar said.

Lahore Qalandars hit 185-5 in only 13 overs in a rain-shortened victory over Multan Sultans at the Pakistan Super League.

Opener Mohammad Naeem hit 60 from 28 balls, Bangladesh international Parvez Hossain Emon 45 from 19 and Abdullah Shafique a 14-ball 33 as Qalandars set a mammoth target.

Their run-rate of 14.23 runs per over was the highest across the innings at a PSL.

Multan lost Steve Smith, Josh Philippe and Sahibzada Farhan inside the powerplay and were already behind the required rate despite Shan Masood's 44 from 18 and Ashton Turner's 52 not out from 22.

Needing 59 from the last 12 overs, Multan finished on 165-5 as Qalandars won by 20 runs.

Lahore now sit second in the table, level on points with third-place Multan but ahead on net run-rate.

Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to continue the trend of chasing teams winning in this year's Indian Premier League.

Kings knocked off a target of 210 with eight balls to spare, meaning six of the seven matches at this year's tournament have been won by the chasers.

Five-time champions CSK, who finished bottom of the standings last year and have now lost two from two this season, made a quick start as 18-year-old Ayush Mhatre hit 73 from 43 balls.

Punjab fought back through the middle but CSK reached 209-5 with Sarfaraz Khan adding 32 and Shivam Dube 45.

But Punjab openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put on 61 in just 4.2 overs at the start of the chase.

They fell for 39 and 43 respectively but captain Shreyas Iyer struck 50 from 29 to push the visitors on as CSK struggled to break through.

With 12 needed from the final two overs, Shashank Singh and Marcus Stoinis secured Punjab's second win, one that puts them top of the early table, in the penultimate over.

Sunrisers Hyderabad earned their first win of this year's Indian Premier League by comfortably beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs at Eden Gardens.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma put on 82 for the first wicket in just 5.4 overs and even though Australia's Head fell for 46 and India opener Abhishek 48, the visitors still posted 226-8 with South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen adding 52 from 35 balls.

Gloucestershire left-armer David Payne conceded 25 from the first over of the chase as New Zealand opener Finn Allen flogged three fours and two sixes but the innings soon fell away.

Allen chipped a catch back to spinner Harsh Dubey for 28, Angkrish Raghuvanshi was run out for 52 and Australian Cameron Green also run out for two.

Left-armer Jaydev Unadkat took 3-21, including the final wicket as KKR, who have lost their first two games, were bowled out for 161 in 16.1 overs.

The win was also the first not won by the chasing side in this year's IPL.

A destructive 74 from 34 balls by Pakistan wicketkeeper Azam Khan ensured Karachi Kings chased 198 to beat Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League.

Azam was dropped on 36 and 69 but struck six fours and six sixes, meaning only 10 runs were needed by the time he was dismissed in the penultimate over.

The right-hander shared a partnership of 76 with Australian David Warner, who made 50 from 36 balls.

Kings completed their chase with four balls remaining, sealing a five-wicket win.

Former England wicketkeeper Sam Billings hit 58 and New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell 65 in Rawalpindiz's 197-6.

The win maintains Karachi's winning start to this year's PSL, putting them top of the standings with three wins from three. Pindiz have lost both of their games.

Islamabad United registered their first victory of the 2026 Pakistan Super League with a convincing eight-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators.

Captain Shadab Khan inspired the win, taking 3-23 with the ball and then steering Islamabad to victory with an unbeaten 69.

Hasan Nawaz smashed an unbeaten 66 off 36 balls as Quetta posted 183-5, with ex-England bowler Tom Curran adding 29* (22) at the end.

In reply, teenage opener Sameer Minhas dominated the Quetta bowling with 82 not out (48) alongside Shadab, who hit four sixes in his 39-ball knock.

England's all-time leading wicket-taker James Anderson says he "hated every minute" of playing in The Hundred last year and intends to go on holiday during the 2026 tournament.

Anderson, 43, was picked as a wildcard in 2025 after impressing with 17 wickets in initial block of the T20 Blast for Lancashire.

He was signed by Manchester Originals, the side linked to Lancashire, and took two wickets in three games.

The seamer has been named Lancashire's red-ball captain for 2026 and intends to focus on winning the Red Rose promotion from division two, alongside playing in the Blast.

"It was a mixture of hating every minute of The Hundred last year, if I can say that, and especially being captain this year, I think it's really important that I focus on being as fit as I can be for the four-day stuff," Anderson told The Independent, external.

"When The Hundred's on, I'm hopefully going to be on holiday somewhere."

Impact substitute Sameer Rizvi helped Delhi Capitals recover from a precarious position and claim a six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Chasing 142, Capitals lost KL Rahul first ball and slipped to 26-4 halfway through the fifth over.

Rizvi was brought into the game at the fall of the second wicket and finished unbeaten on 70 off 47 balls as Capitals won with 17 balls to spare.

He put on an unbroken 119 for the fifth wicket with South Africa's Tristan Stubbs, who made 39 not out.

Earlier, Super Giants were bowled out for 141 with Abdul Samad (36) and Mitch Marsh (35) the only batters to pass 14.

Seamers Thangarasu Natarajan and Lungi Ngidi were the pick of the Capitals bowlers, picking up 3-29 and 3-27 respectively.

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan crashed an unbeaten 106 to guide Multan Sultans to a six-wicket win over Hyderbad Kingsmen in the Pakistan Super League.

Farhan, who was dropped on 56, hit seven fours and eight sixes - including a six to win the game - as Sultans chased 226 with eight balls to spare.

He shared 104 with Australia's Steve Smith (46 off 20) for the first wicket and also put on 45 with Shan Masood for the third wicket.

Earlier, Kingsmen posted 225-5 with Maaz Sadaqat making 62 off 26 at the top of the order and Sharjeel Khan an unbeaten 51 off 26.

The win sees Sultans climb to the top of the table with two wins from two, while Kingsmen sit bottom with three successive defeats on their PSL debut.

Jamaica Kingsmen will become the seventh team in the Caribbean Premier League from the 2026 season.

The USA-based ownership group recently set up Hyderabad Kingsmen, who have joined the Pakistan Super League season for the 2026 campaign.

Pete Russell, the chief executive of the CPL, said Jamaica was a "powerhouse in Caribbean cricket" and that the new team was a "bold step forward in building on that legacy".

Fawad Sarwar, owner of the Jamaica Kingsmen, added: "Jamaica has a rich cricketing heritage and passionate fans, and we are committed to building a team that reflects that pride and competes at the highest level."

The franchise will be based in Kingston and will play at Sabina Park.

A Jamaica-based side - Jamaica Tallawahs - were last in the CPL in 2023.

Cooper Connolly made a superb unbeaten 72 on his Indian Premier League debut as he guided Punjab Kings to a three-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans.

Chasing 162, Punjab looked to be cruising to victory at 110-2 at the start of the 12th over.

But the Kings lost four wickets for eight runs to slip to 118-6 as Prasidh Krishna claimed three quick wickets en route to figures of 3-29.

However, Australia all-rounder Connolly batted with measured aggression, hitting five fours and five sixes, to get Punjab over the line with five balls to spare.

"I'm stoked to spend some time in the middle and to put on a show tonight was nice," Connolly, 22, said.

"Working with [Punjab coach] Ricky Ponting has been great and some slight tweaks have helped me out."

Earlier, Jos Buttler had hit 38 off off 33 balls as he hinted at a return to form following a difficult winter.

The England opener struggled during the recent T20 World Cup as he averaged 10.87 in eight innings with a top score of 26.

In his first appearance since the tournament the 35-year-old, batting at three, whacked three fours and two sixes in his knock.

Only Shubman Gill, who made a 27-ball 39, outscored Buttler for the Titans as they posted 162-6 from their 20 overs.

Vijaykumar Vyshak finished the pick of the Punjab bowlers with 3-34 while all-rounder Marco Jansen bowled tightly as he claimed 1-20.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi whacked the joint-third fastest half-century in Indian Premier League history as he helped Rajasthan Royals to an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings.

Set a modest 128 for victory by CSK in the opening game for both sides in this year's tournament, the 15-year-old Royals opening batter hammered 50 off just 15 balls in Guwahati.

It was just two balls more than the record set by his Rajasthan opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023.

The teenager was dismissed by seamer Anshul Kamboj - caught at extra cover - on 52 off 17 balls with a strike-rate of 305.88 having hammered four fours and five sixes.

After watching Suryavanshi break the back of the chase Jaiswal made an unbeaten 38 off 36 balls as the Royals cruised over the line with 47 balls remaining.

"The plan was to go big in the powerplay. The wicket was sticky early on but then it eased up," Suryavanshi said.

"The coaches have told me that they back me and they're behind me. They told me to read the situation and back my game.

"After every ball, Jaiswal didn't tell me to take a single. He told me that the ball's going off the bat nicely and to keep going."

Earlier, England fast bowler Jofra Archer took 2-19 to finish the pick of the Rajasthan bowlers as the Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals.

Jamie Overton, one of three CSK players into double figures, added some respectability as he top-scored with 43 off 36 balls.

Fakhar Zaman is awaiting the outcome of a ball-tampering charge following the completion of a second disciplinary hearing.

Lahore Qalandars were penalised for the offence by the umpires during Sunday's Pakistan Super League defeat (PSL) by Karachi Kings.

Prior to the final over, Kings, who needed 14 to win, were awarded five penalty runs after the officials deemed Pakistan international Fakhar had broken rules by "unfairly changing the condition of the ball" - an offence he has denied.

BBC Sport has been told a second and final hearing was concluded on Monday and the decision from match referee Roshan Mahanama is now pending.

Cricket's laws do not allow players to alter the condition of the ball, other than when shining it.

Law 41.3.2 states "it is an offence for any player to take any action which changes the condition of the ball".

Fakhar has never been charged with ball tampering previously and would likely be handed a one or two-match ban in the PSL if found guilty of the offence.

The 35-year-old has played 120 T20 internationals for Pakistan and scored 2,494 runs in 110 innings at an average of 23.98.

Mumbai Indians made an imposing start to the Indian Premier League by beating Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets at Wankhede Stadium.

A day after Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased 202 in 15.4 overs, five-time champions Mumbai knocked off 221 with five balls to spare in another impressive pursuit.

Former captain Rohit Sharma scored 78 from 38 balls and fellow opener Ryan Rickelton, preferred over South Africa team-mate Quinton de Kock, a 43-ball 81 - the pair combining for an opening partnership of 148 runs in 11.5 overs.

That put Mumbai well ahead of the game on another ideal batting surface which was the same pitch used for England's T20 World Cup semi-final against India.

Mumbai strolled home even with the loss of four wickets, having earlier done well to limit Kolkata to only 220-4.

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 67 from 40 balls but the former champions did not take full advantage of reaching 100 after 7.5 overs.

India's Jasprit Bumrah was the most economical bowler again, conceding 35 runs from his four overs.

Rajasthan Royals host Chennai Super Kings in Monday's fixture.
