Eurovision Song Contest is coming to Asia

Eurovision is the world's longest running international music competition

The Eurovision Song Contest is launching in Asia.
Known for its glitzy costumes and whacky performances, Eurovision has been running since 1956.
But now for the first time ever, an Asian edition of the contest will be happening.
So far, 10 countries have signed up including South Korea, Bhutan, Thailand and the Philippines.
The final will be in held in Bangkok (Thailand) in November.

Remember Monday were the UK's 2025 entry in the contest
Eurovision is now in its 70th year and reaches more than 160 million viewers every year.
The exact rules for the Asian version aren't clear yet, but in the European version, songs must be original and the lead vocals must be sung live.
Performers are then voted on by music experts and fans.
Martin Green - the contest's director - is excited to "open this next chapter with Asia, a region rich in culture, creativity and talent".

The megastar K-pop group BTS
Global music labels have been investing in Asia, and we are seeing more collaborations between Asian and Western performers.
K-pop has travelled from the region and taken the world by storm, after dominating Asian markets for many years.
So, the creators hope this new competition will be a success!.
