- The suspect has been identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a 41-year-old naturalised US citizen who was born in Lebanon and came to the US in 2011
- He died on Thursday during the incident at the Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, where more than 100 children were attending school
- The suspect's cause of death remains undetermined. Officials said security from Temple Israel did fire their weapons at the suspect
- Thirty police officers were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation as the synagogue became "engulfed" in flames from the truck the suspect drove into Temple Israel
- One security guard is being treated at hospital for injuries and is expected to recover
- The FBI said the incident was being investigated as a "targeted act of violence against the Jewish community"
- The school's 140 students, staff, and teachers have all been accounted for and are safe, officials said
- On Friday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer called the attack an "act of hate, plain and simple", as she called on Americans to "tone down the rhetoric", and President Donald Trump said the attack "is a shame"
