    Wales 7-26 France

Incidentally, it is very much a family affair with the French side now with Teani Feleu joining skipper Manae on the field.

The replacement centre is penalised there though for holding on and Wales have a chance to mount some offence at last.

It really is all France now.

The latest attack yields a penalty and they go for the corner. But respite for Wales as Elisa Riffonneau's throw fails to find the target.

Proud moment for the family of Jenna De Vera and for herself, one of Wales' more exciting players for the future.

After an ACL repair last season, what a moment for Jenna de Vera as she comes on for her debut.

Called onto the bench today, the former Wales Under-20s captain makes her first senior appearance.

At least a moment to cheer for the home crowd as Jenna de Vera, not even in the matchday squad when it was initially announced on Thursday - comes on for her first cap.

She picks her moments, a very selfless player always looking for try assists. But you know she's got it in the tank to take her opportunities.

You really feel the momentum now is all France.

  7. try

Pauline Bourdon Sansus (Con: Carla Arbez)

And there is the bonus point!

She created the third try, and now the experienced number nine has scored the fourth.

The forwards did the donkey work with a rolling maul, before Bourdon Sansus spots a gap and cleverly snipes over by the posts.

Class moment from a class player.

    Wales 7-19 France

Lightning nearly strikes twice as Lea Murie again powers down the left-wing - but this time she's just about stopped by a combination of Seren Lockwood and Jasmine Joyce.

France are hunting a bonus point here.

Really clever stuff from the scrum half, she spotted that they were a player down on that side. She looks up, sees there is only one there, runs towards her, fixes on her and releases.

Kayleigh Powell will be gutted about that one.

It is the right call from the officials.

It is head on head directly and I am not sure if there is mitigating circumstances so she could be in trouble.

And straight away the French capitalise!

It is a great finish from wing Lea Murie, who links with scrum-half Pauline Bourdon Sansus - and then stands up Kayleigh Powell before beating her on the outside to score in the corner.

Wales still have eight minutes to hold out with 14 players - it might feel a lot longer than that.

  12. Sin-bin: Gwen Crabbpublished at 53 mins

    Wales 7-14 France

A blow for Wales as after a TMO review, Gwen Crabb is sin-binned after head-on-head contact.

Replays show the officials had little option there - her body position in the tackle was all wrong.

Ohhh and a chance to attack goes begging!

Again Wales get go-forward ball but replacement Donna Rose finds herself in midfield and spills the ball forward.

You sense that if Wales are going to get back into this, they will need to be more accurate than that.

Much better from Wales as Seren Singleton finds some space on the right wing and gets within 15 metres of the line.

But lacking support, she's hauled down and the French forwards swarm to win a penalty.

Sean Lynn has pulled off Kate Williams the captain, she was maybe walking a little bit gingerly.

So she has potentially taken a knock.

Both sides making changes but most significantly, Welsh captain Kate Williams has hobbled off for Georgia Evans - with Bethan Lewis moving to openside flanker and taking over the captaincy.

Experienced lock Natalia John is also on - her first Six Nations appearance since Wales last won in this competition against Italy in April 2024.

That is frustrating because that was happening in the first half and would have been something they would have spoke about at half time.

If a player isn't quite making touch you have to make sure you get a good chase on there.

    Wales 7-14 France

Wales look for an immediate response from an attacking line-out but they are simply unable to get any go forward ball.

Eventually, Lleucu George runs out of ideas and attempts a cross-field kick that doesn't come off.

    She does really well there.

It all starts from Wales being unable to exit and clear their lines.

This is what France do best, that is why you can't go high on any French player, they are so good at keeping the ball alive and keeping momentum.

  20. try

Converted try: Wales 7-12 Francepublished at 47 mins

    Manae Feleu (con: Carla Arbez)

    It's been coming.

That poor kick from Powell allowed France to muster another attack and it was Aubane Rousset who broke into the 22.

From their, the pack kept their nerve to go through the phases before skipper Manae Feleu drives over and Arbez converts.
