Leicester Tigers head coach Geoff Parling says being two wins away from claiming the first piece of silverware this season is all the motivation his players need for their Prem Cup semi-final.

The East Midlands club host Bath, the side that beat them in the Premiership final at Twickenham last season, in Sunday's knockout game (16:00 GMT).

As Pool B winners and best-performing side in the group stage, victory against Bath would mean Tigers host the Prem Cup final on Sunday, 15 March.

"People know what's on the line," Parling told BBC Radio Leicester.

"Will we reference it? Yes, we will. But you don't have to over-egg it as well because people know what's there and the main thing we need to get across is that if we train well and prep well and you perform well in your role, then we'll probably get some good results on the end of that."

Tigers won seven of their eight group games to finish top of Pool B ahead of regional rivals Northampton Saints.

While the Prem Cup is a competition that Parling has handed the reins over to his support staff to lead, with assistant coaches Neil Fowkes and Alex Davies stepping up at different times, it could deliver the first piece of silverware since the decorated former Tigers player returned to the club as boss.

While winning the cup would be a milestone achievement for the rookie head coach just six months into the job, it is not a distraction.

Parling confirmed that the side he sends out against Bath will reflect the one that has been relied on all competition, with a mixture of the club's international talent and vast experience melded together with emerging talent.

"It's a great challenge against a top team," Parling said.

"We know what's coming. They have a good ability to create and squeeze a team out of nothing.

"It's a good challenge and we are tough to beat at home in front of our faithful at Mattioli Woods Welford Road."
