Cardiff Devils' four-game winning streak was brought to an end by Coventry Blaze

Cardiff Devils' strong fightback was not enough as they were beaten 5-4 by Coventry Blaze.

Grayson Constable and Jordan Power netted either side of a Michael Pelech brace as the hosts cruised into a four-goal lead in the opening period at Skydome Arena.

Brett Perlini and Josh MacDonald responded with quickfire efforts for the visitors midway through the second period.

Perlini netted his second of the contest early on in the third period as Cardiff continued to apply pressure on the hosts.

But as the Devils pushed for an equaliser, Colton Saucerman scored the home side's fifth in the final stages to seal victory for Coventry - with Brandon Estes bagging a late consolation for the away side.

Cardiff stay second in the Elite League table with three matches of the regular season left to play. Coventry sit seventh.

Devils host Sheffield Steelers at Vindico Arena on Wednesday, 1 April (19:00 BST).

Blaze return to action against newly-crowned champions Belfast Giants on Sunday, 5 April (17:30 BST).
