Crewe Alexandra will not let any disappointment at a late defeat by Bristol Rovers derail their bid to clinch a League Two play-off place, says defender Reece Hutchinson.

The Alex looked set for a third win in a row on Saturday, leading Rovers 1-0 with three minutes to go.

But the home side scored twice through Tommy Leigh before the final whistle, with his winner coming in the third minute of added time.

"It's two moments," Hutchinson told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We should have stopped the cross [for the first] and then three men in the box and they went and scored [for the second].

"We felt comfortable at 1-0. I thought we should have been two ahead at the break. Things changed. Two moments killed the game - it was our game to win and we lost."

Defeat was only Crewe's second in their last nine league matches and they are still very much in the race to finish in the top seven with Grimsby Town in the last play-off spot ahead of them on goal difference.

The Alex have a key promotion game coming up on Saturday as fellow play-off hopefuls Walsall come to the Mornflake Stadium.

Hutchinson says their loss against Rovers will not shake their confidence.

"We won't let one negative result affect us because we have been playing well and we've been getting good results very recently," he added.

"We'll analyse it and then we've got a big game against Walsall back at the Mornflake.

"That's how it's been all season. We've had up and down results and then we've hit a good bit of form and we won't let this one result affect us because I know this group will always bounce back and we'll be raring to go on Saturday."
