Sheffield Wednesday head coach Henrik Pedersen says he wants to stay at the club in League One next season despite the ongoing turmoil off the pitch.

The Owls suffered the earliest relegation in EFL history following their 18-point deduction for regulation breaches by owner Dejphon Chansiri and the club remains in administration while they await a potential takeover.

The 48-year-old took over at the club in July 2025 having previously served as assistant to former boss Danny Rohl.

"I have a contract for two more years and I love to stay here and we have some really good conversations," Pedersen told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"So I do all that I can to prepare Sheffield Wednesday in the best possible way for a season in League One.

"And this is to plan the whole pre-season, make profiling for the scouting, to get an overview for all the free transfers in League One, in the Championship.

"There is a lot to do and we help each other here."

When asked how he is able to prepare with so much uncertainty hanging over the future of the club - in which a further 15-point deduction is likely to be imposed next season - Pedersen said they will do so as "best they can".

"We know what we want and it doesn't matter what's happened," he added.

"We can still watch all the free transfer players. We can still have our profiling.

"There's a lot of things we can do, but we are all hopeful and positive for the next step for the takeover."
