Alfie Massey has spent the first part of this season on loan with Wealdstone

Southend United have signed Alfie Massey on loan from Millwall for the remainder of the current campaign.

The 20-year-old midfielder spent the first part of this season with fellow National League side Wealdstone, making 10 appearances.

Massey initially spent time in the academies at West Ham and Arsenal before progressing through Millwall's under-18s and under-21s teams.

Southend manager Kevin Maher told the club website: "Everyone we spoke to at Millwall speaks really highly of him, so it's nice to have him on board."
