Torquay United have appointed Darren Way to the first-team coaching staff at Plainmoor, just two days after he was sacked as manager of National League South rivals Bath City.
Way will assist new Gulls boss Jimmy Ball until the end of the season, with the appointment announced on the day of the manager's first home match in charge, against league leaders Dorking Wanderers on Tuesday.
Ball, the son of the late 1966 England World Cup winner Alan, took over at Torquay on 18 March, with the side currently sitting seventh, in the final play-off position, and 10 points off top spot.
