Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley says he is pleased that his side have broken into League One's top 10 for the first time this season.

The injury-hit Pilgrims came from a goal down to beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 at Home Park as they won for the fourth time in five League One matches.

They had been bottom of the table in November after a five-game winless run, but since then have won 10 of their last 17 league games and are now only six points off the play-off places.

"We've climbed 14 places," Cleverley said. "We went through some difficult times together, not just the group but the whole club.

"To be in that top 10, it felt significant when we got in the top half and top 10's another challenge and life and football is all about timing, but we we focus on the next game."

MacKenzie finally makes first start

The win was also significant for summer signing Jack MacKenzie.

The 25-year-old - who moved to Devon from Scottish side Aberdeen in the summer - finally made his first start for the club after an injury-ravaged first season.

He suffered a knee problem in pre-season followed by shin splints, but finally made his debut as a substitute in the loss at Stockport County on 31 January.

MacKenzie made three more substitute appearances in all competitions before finally starting in Saturday's win.

"I'm very pleased with his performance," Cleverley said.

"You could tell he's played for a big club in Scotland, the 16,000 here didn't affect him whatsoever. I thought he was really consistent throughout the game.

"He got tired towards the end and Luke Molyneux is one of the best wingers in the league and I thought he kept him very quiet."
