Latest research raises questions over breast screening
One in three breast cancers detected by mammogram screening may actually be harmless, a study has suggested. New research from Denmark is based on statistical analysis and no-one yet has explained what does a doctor actually see on a mammogram that causes concern. At what point is a biopsy neccesary? And what advice do experts give, based on what they discover, about whether you might need a lumpectomy, a mastectomy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy or nothing?
