 Europe in the 17th century was gripped by Tulipmania. At that time the value of a single bulb could fetch the equivalent of £300,000 so it was not surprising that pictures of tulips became popular.
Claudia Hammond meets author and lecturer, Justine Hopkins to find out why the tulip was so treasured.
