The artist discusses the images she produces each Easter in memory of her mother.
For almost 25 years, on Good Friday, the renowned painter, printmaker and sculptor Maggi Hambling has produced an Easter image in memory of her mother. This year many of the paintings have been brought together in an exhibition in the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. Maggi joins Jenni to talk about the images, the ritual of producing them each year, and about her continued love for the Suffolk coastline.
Easter Images: Art conversation - Maggi Hambling will be talking to Curator Nathaniel Hepburn about her Good Friday paintings on 31 March at Canterbury Cathedral. The exhibition runs from 27 March - 6 April 2010.Mascalls Gallery: Cross Purposes Maggi Hambling at the Marlborough Gallery Maggi Hambling at the Fitzwilliam, CambridgeDisclaimer
