Fifty years ago restaurant critic and campaigner Egon Ronay’s eponymous food guides went national. In The Food Programme guest presenter Peter Bazalgette asks what led this Hungrian émigré to try and change food in Britain, from meals in service stations and railway stations to restaurants and cafes.
