The Waterfront
Classics, Waterfront Rock and Waterfront Comedy nights build on the
success of last years Waterfront Classics concert, which was
attended by 4,500 people.
The first event, Waterfront Classics, on Friday 3rd September, is
a spectacular classical musical concert in association with Classic
FM, performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
They will play compositions by Claude Debussy, Leonard Bernstein,
Richard Wagner and Strauss, and will also be joined on stage by Marc
Almond and the Farm, who will each perform one of their own hits.
The concert also features Liverpools own Young Musician of the
Year, Thomas Osbourne.
Michael Elliott, Chief Executive of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic
Orchestra, said: Music lovers are promised a fantastic
night of entertainment showcasing the versatility of our Orchestra
in a programme featuring some of the world's most beautiful music,
with special guests from the worlds of pop and classical music."
A massive pyrotechnic, laser lights and fireworks display will light
up the night sky to accompany the music.
On Saturday 4th September, Waterfront Rock, a pop music concert will
also light up the sky!
And on Sunday 5th September, the Pier Head will be rocking with laughter
during the Waterfront Comedy night. Two of the countrys most
popular acts - Jo Brand and Julian Clary take to the stage
for a night of comedy which has never been seen before, organised
in association with Rawhide Comedy Club.
A giant video wall will beam images of the crowd and the stage to
the audience.
