The Team were joined by Karl Windridge and his Team (UKPS - UK Paranormal Study) and members of the public.

There were only three Believe members investigating the galleries as there would be too many people in the building if all members came along.

The 'Believe' Investigators - What did they think before going?

The entrance hall

Chris Thomas, "Galleries of Justice is an awesome place. So many other investigations have taken place here in the past, and many teams have come out with some fantastic results. It's going to be interesting being with the Karl and the Ukps team, and of course the public. We have never done an investigation like this before so I'm very much looking forward to it".

George Hallows, "Well the Galleries is a fantastic place, so many people have experienced so much phenomena here. The place is amazing, it has so many places to investigate, and the place where I want to investigate has to be the caves, because I've heard a lot of things do take place down there".

Phil Pocknee, "This place is the best location I've been to so far. So much History, and many ghost stories. Im looking forward to meeting Karl and see him work, and also looking forward to investigating some of the hotspots, like the caves, pits, and the cells. This is going to be one excellent night, im sure of it".

A Quick History Lesson

The Galleries of Justice claims to be one of the most haunted locations in Great Britain. Over the centuries many people have entered the building with the sense of fright.

The corridor to the cells

There has been a court there since at least 1375 and a prison since 1449. The Galleries contains the original cells, dungeons, 2 courtrooms, and medieval caves.

It is the only place in Britain where you could be tried, convicted, and sentenced. Some executions were even done at the entrance of the building. With all punishments such as whipping, imprisonment, and executions, there going to be lots of tormented souls that's are still lingering around the building.

Paranormal Locations in the Building

Entrance Hall - There is meant to be three ghosts that roam here, a Victorian gentleman, a soldier, and a lady. Many people have also felt cold spots.

Who was walking the balcony?

The Court Room - Apparently very active. So many people have heard knocking sounds, and terrifying groans. Also many people have seen black figures on the balcony. On many investigations that have taken place, people have caught many orbs on camera/camcorders.

Cell Corridor - Many people have heard lots of strange noises, including footsteps, doors slamming, and the sound of keys rattling.

The laundry room

The Laundry Room - A very active place. People have smelt strange smells, and the door at one time slammed open. Orbs have also been picked up on camera.

Courtyard/ exercise yard - Bodies are buried underneath the ground of the yard. Many people have witnessed and experienced strange sensations, and have also seen dark figures. People have also once again caught orbs on their camera.

The Caves/ Chapel - This part of the Galleries is meant to be the most haunted part. So many people have experienced phenomena down there. A cross is sometime thrown across the room. Noises and bangs have been heard. People have been touched, and stones have been thrown at people.

The scary pits

The Pits - These are a very scary place to be. Many people have felt very sick, and have had to leave the building. People have been touched and footsteps have been heard. Also dark shadows have been seen on many occasions.

The Investigation And Other Investigators

Karl Windridge is a well-experienced medium and paranormal investigator. Chris is very sceptical about mediums, so he was very interested to see and find out more about mediumship.

There was also Carolyn and Will who were going to help us out with the investigation. Both from the Uk paranormal study team.

We started off the investigation by going to the Court Room.

The court is a very active place. Many people have seen figures on the balconies so we kept an eye on the courts higher-level areas.

We had just started the investigation when Chris and Phil heard some creaking noises coming from the balcony. It happened on many occasions, and some of the public heard the noises as well, but we weren't sure if that was just from the building cooling down, and the wood was creaking. The weird thing was that as soon as we went up there, there was no more creaking.

Karl Windridge

It was about 15 minutes into the investigation when Karl got over-come by a spirit. This spirit was 'William Saville' who was a rapist and a murder. He even raped his own family. This spirit was a very evil, and you could tell!

Karl began to become very horrible, and began throwing map scrolls at George. He also tried to grab Chris and Phil, and shout at us. This did frighten us, but the worst thing was that Karl's face actually had changed as if someone had smeared into his body and created another head shape. This was all caught on camcorder but we couldn't take a photo of him because of the flashes, which can make the spirit very upset. Karl's forehead had changed and his face. It was bizarre.

Noises were also heard on numerous occasions when all this was going on. Chris also heard the rattling of keys, and one of the public thought he saw a black figure on the balcony. The two courtrooms are fantastic places to investigate.

What Next

After the Courtroom investigation, the Believe Team where amazed in what they had just seen. Karl had convinced Chris, and that's something that is really hard to do. He was shocked in what he saw.

The Believe Team then split up into groups, Phil and Mule went into the night Cell, and Chris went down into caves.

The Caves

Chris met up with another Ukps team member - Andy Wainwright. We made our way through the chapel into the caves. Chris was feeling very cold, but Andy was beginning to burn up. We where then joined by Michael Judd (manager/owner Galleries) and some of the public members.

We all went down to the bottom of the caves where many things did happen. People thought that they were getting touched, cold spots were felt, aching pains, and orbs where seen. Sadly nothing happened to Chris when he was down there, will his time come?

Night Cell

The night cell

George and Phil were joined by Will and 3 other members of the public. Will became very irritated by an evil man, and got very uncomfortable. George became very cold, and just as he said he was cold, a huge flash was seen by everyone. They went to check if it was anyone with a camera, but nobody was there.
A few noises were caught on camera, but they could be easily explained.

Mule and Phil also went into the cell corridor, and heard a few noises as if someone was banging a wall.

We then went up for a break, and discussed what had happened. All of us hadn't really experienced anything since the courts, so we where a little apprehensive in what was going to happen next.

After the break, Chris and George went into the Laundry Room with Carolyn and Will. Phil went to the pits with Karl and some of the others.

Laundry Room

We first went into the room, and it seemed very peaceful and quiet. We waited quietly for about 15 minutes, when Chris suddenly smelt something next to him. He said it smelt like something really old and musty. Will then said that it was a spirit called 'Roof'. The smell then disappeared, and the room became a little colder.

Is this spirit light, or just dust? This photo was taken when my arm was being touched was it coincidence, or was it Roof?

Roof apparently loves male people and is very attracted to them so hopefully we could catch something here. Will said to Carolyn that Roof was walking towards me, and started to rub my arm. As soon as Carolyn said that, my arm became like static, as if I was touching a TV. It happened for about 10 seconds, and then I could feel the static going up and down my arm as if something was actually rubbing it. It was weird but fantastic.

Caroline and Will left George and Chris in the room. Chris asked if someone could knock on the wall and something did. Chris got his nose flicked and a breathing/groan noises was picked up twice on camera. There was also a flash seen near the door, as soon as George investigated it, it was freezing cold.

Pits

Phil went to the pits to see if Karl could pick up on anything down there. Some of the investigators heard what sounded like a girl screaming, and Phil actually picked up an orb moving in between Karl. Karl again was over-come by William and became very active.

Trying again to grab Phil, so Carolyn and Will went to help him. Karl did become very scary, and kept on trying to get Phil. They tried to get Karl out of that area. He apparently wanted Phil and Carolyn, so they had to be careful for the rest of the night.

Chris and George went down into the pits. They joined Carolyn and Will. Nothing really happened for around 25 minutes. Carolyn then mentioned that she could feel a cold spot near her knees. Chris switched places with her and ever so often could feel a cold spot.

He checked the door and couldn't feel any draft at all so it was quite bizarre. We also heard loud footsteps. At the time we didn't really think much of them until we remembered that there were motion sensors down so Chris went outside to have a look. Another group heard them as well and saw no one there. Footsteps were also caught on camera and dictaphone.

Chris then left one of the condemned men's cells and went into another one on his own. George stayed near the pit area, to see if he could see anything.

I felt very comfortable, and didn't feel spooked at all. When watching the clips at home I noticed that I actually picked up 2 bright orbs. Around about 10 minutes later he heard what sounded like a huge thud on the wall in the room. He then heard an even bigger next to the dummy that was next to him. You can then tell that Chris was scared as you can see the camera view beginning to shake. He was glad to come out of there.

Galleries Tour

Meanwhile Phil went on his own, going to different places. He started off near the entrance hall. He stayed here for a while but didn't hear or see anything. It was deadly silent.

He then made his way through to the cell corridor. He began to hear a thumping noise, as if something was following him. He kept of walking towards more of the transportation cells and corridors.

He stayed there for a while but again nothing happened. He then decided to take up the courage and go into the chapel and caves.

He made his way down into the caves with a torch and his camera. Remember that this William Saville haunts the caves mostly, and William is after Phil.
Phil then began to call out, to get William to show himself. Unfortunately nothing happened so Chris and George went to join him.

We stayed in there for a while trying to get William to do something. Suddenly a stone was thrown which hit the pillar next to Phil, as if something tried to hit him.
Phil then made his way up to find Karl, which left Chris and George in the caves.

John and Toni who are also apart of the UKPS team then joined Chris and George. Some of the other investigators also came.

As soon as everyone got in there everyone except Chris heard what sounds like something making a huge groan. This was also caught on camera. George then turned around to tell me what they heard when a stone was thrown at a wall next to him.

Around 5 minutes later Chris and George heard someone giggle which was right next to them. This was also caught on camera. The caves at this point seemed very active, and we where hoping for more. Sadly after this nothing happened so we all went upstairs for a break.

Meanwhile we met back up with Phil who also experienced nothing.

Back To The Caves

Are those orbs?

We then went back down into the caves to see if we could catch any more phenomena. Carolyn and Will joined us this time.

Chris and John (UKPS) then left the caves towards the chapel area with some of the public. Chris heard what sounds like a little scream but sadly this happened when some people where going out of the chapel so it could have been one of them.

Phil went with Karl into the caves where again the spirit William overcame him. He began giving sand to everyone and even threw some at one person. Karl again was becoming very terrifying, so Carolyn tried to get Karl out, which she did in the end.

Chris in the Courtyard

Chris went to the courtyard on his own for a while to see if he could catch anything. For some reason he found that this place scared him the most. William Savilles gravestone was on one of the walls, which made him even more spooked.

In the end nothing happened but Chris was so scared that he had to get out of the place as quickly as possible.On the way back he met up back with George and Phil. They decided to revisit the Courtroom.

Courtroom

The Believe Team decided to do their last investigation in the courtroom. Chris began calling out, 'If there's any spirits here, please show yourself.'

There were some faint noises that were heard from the balconies, like creaks and small tapping noises.
On the way out something was thrown that hit the doorway, but we couldn't find the object anywhere.

It had been a hard night, and everyone was tired. We decided to call the investigation a night.

Conclusion

Overall the Galleries of Justice is fantastic place, which is definitely haunted. So much happened on the night. At home we need to analyse the footage the best we can, but at this very moment a lot of the events that happened are unexplainable.

A great night, and the best investigation so far.
